Description: This course includes a project welded in the GTAW process. A corner and square groove seam (flat seam) will be welded and polished to a #4 finish. Lessons will include different method of controlling warping and shrinkage of the welded seam. Materials used will be mild steel, stainless steel and aluminum.

Description: In this welding unit the students will be introduced to the Flux Core Arc Welding process. They will be expected to certify under AWS D1.1 Structural Welding Code on 3/8" mild steel plate. They will also have the opportunity to certify for unlimited thickness on 1" plate once they have mastered the process.

Description: This outcome based course will introduce the student to the AWS D9.1 sheet metal code. They will be expected to apply and practice knowledge and skills from previous training to qualify under D9.1. They will be required to certify on mild steel with both 10 gauge and 14 gauge, using the GMAW process. They can ten try to qualify on Stainless Steel with GMAW, or on Mild Steel using the GTAW process.

Once they qualify on 3/8" plate in both the 3G and 4G positions they will attempt the same on 1" plate.
