Description: In this challenging week of training students will measure and sketch some typical industrial situations. They will also be introduced to the GTAW welding process. Students will measure a project, sketch it, then create a shop drawing of it. Upon completion of that process they will fabricate one of the items they measured and sketched out of Stainless Steel or Aluminum.
Description: The main topics of this unit will be reading and understanding Industrial Plans and Fabrication drawings. Students will be introduced to drawings from a variety of different Industrial jobs, including high tech. plants, mills and heavy manufacturing facilities. Job planning and job site safety will also be covered.
Description: This unit will teach students about rigging, both with classroom time and actual hands on with an onsite crane doing actual picks of equipment. Safety will be heavily stresses in this unit. Students will also apply rigging and lifting to hands on installation of Industrial Sheet Metal items.
Description: In this unit the students will be introduced to the various types of materials used in the Industrial Sheet Metal Industry. They will also learn the basics of heavy metal layout and fabrication including machine operation and safety. They will learn about metal thickness allowance and will fabricate a project out of 10g mild steel.
