Industrial Sheet Metal Workers work on large-scale projects; custom, one-of-a-kind projects; or large shop-built modules.  The metals used in this industry are often up to one-inch thick.  Industrial sheet metal parts often must be hoisted into place utilizing lifts or cranes.  You may design, assemble, and install the air handling systems needed in various types of businesses with varying requirements.  You may work long hours as many mills and industrial plants cannot afford to be down for long periods of time.  A fully trained Sheet Metal Worker who completes the iTi's Industrial Curriculum knows how to measure, layout, fabricate and install the various fittings, guards, weldments or other items that are required in this segment of the industry.  The Sheet Metal Worker who is trained in the Industrial industry is a huge assest to the business owners of industrial plants, mills, high tech facilities and others who must have their systems working reliably and efficiently and who cannot afford to have extended periods of down time for maintenance and repairs.
